Bunraku-inspired starship battles were marvelous. Fighting was well choreographed, particularly considering how crowded the stage became at times. The use of a percussionist before and during the show kept the mood and pacing brisk while punctuating the stylized storytelling. Clever effects and swift scene changes made what could have been ponderous light and swift.
What I didn't like
A larger stage would have given the production a bit more breathing room but they somehow managed this complex show and large cast in the space provided.
My overall impression
Fascinating intergalactic yet traditional version of the Marlowe tragedy of ambition. Well integrated with Klingon mythology and traditions.
