What I liked

I liked that the play is 90 minutes, and in that short timeframe you can get to know the characters, understand who they are and what drives them, feel for them, relate to them, and want to see them pull through and come out on top. And, having actors who fit the bill for the body image that they are representing is always a plus! Patrick Cronen was definitely the right man to walk around on stage with his shirt off! ;) And, the Irish accent was on point. He was perfect for the role of Jack! All 4 actors did a great job representing their character.

What I didn't like

The music was a little too loud in the audience, but I went on opening day and that was just one tweak that is an easy fix for the next showing. However, the actors volume level was on point! I didn’t like that Erica’s character seemed so desperate at times when it came to wanting Jack’s affection or approval, but the actresses did a good job playing the part. There was dark liquor in a vodka bottle, so that distracted my eye.

My overall impression

Hoboken is a well written play with relatable issues that we face today, especially the city life, and each character’s dark secret locks you in, which made the whole 90 minute play entertaining from beginning to end.
