Ben has an Andy Kaufman-esque charm and eccentric awkward swagger that makes pretty much everything he does on stage immensely watchable. And I got a potato. What more is there to want?
What I didn't like
The whole “I forgot to pay the Stage Manager” schtick is sort of becoming old hat at Fringe. For such an unusual and unexpected show, that bit felt a little ‘done’.
My overall impression
A spectacularly weird and plotted tale of capitalism, corporate greed, and American values, with the aloofly charming Ben Nicholson leading the charge.
