The whole play is strong—abstract, yet subtle, intellectual, yet emotional. Too many shows bury the writing beneath effects, costumes, over-acting, and heavy-handed direction. This show, I think, struck exactly the right balance between all of its elements, while emphasizing the writing. I can see why this play’s opening monologue won a Kennedy Center award.
What I didn't like
I have no complaints. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
My overall impression
I found this show to be very thoughtful and entertaining. I especially enjoyed the script and the deft but forceful way the writing brought the issue of global warming down to the level of the smallest life forms whose ecosystem we are busily destroying.
