The staging is so creative, even though it doesn’t rely on complex blocking. With very little, they make the audience feel like they’re in an institution with the characters. David Haverty is a comic force on stage – his timing and commitment to physical comedy are sort of a wonder. Jason Rosario as “Man” is hard to take your eyes off, even though he doesn’t have a lot to say. The script by Ian Kaye crackles along and hits all the right narrative notes.
What I didn't like
Some of the performances were a tad broader than I would have liked, but it’s a small quibble.
My overall impression
A short, tight, sweet little fever dream of a brain teaser that is equal parts “The Three Stooges” and “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest”. It’s proof that shows don’t have to be long to be substantial.
