The direction from Scott Golden. Everything made absolute sense in the confines of the space. Nothing felt forced. Nothing felt out of place. The performances. Kelley Pierre (who also wrote the piece) was an explosion from beginning to end and really created a thoroughly fleshed out character in such a short span of time. Sam Sheeks was every bit her equal, bringing an intensity and stubbornness to the role that added such dynamism. This is how to do Fringe minimalism successfully.
What I didn't like
There was one emotionally shift that didn’t resonate as entirely true to me. Not sure what it was that caused it. Just seemed sudden and less earned than the rest.
My overall impression
A tight, well-paced, energetic, and engaging piece of theatre that excels in its direction and top-notch performances.
