What I liked
The convention of being in a cave with Glennis/Glory was a wonderfully creative choice and well executed. She is an energetic, committed and unique performer. I appreciated the creative ways she used “a play within a play” device to explore issues of worthiness, suicidal thoughts, alcohol abuse and motherhood.
What I didn't like
Would love more interesting lighting design, have more of the action take place downstage rather than so far upstage, and would love more musical theatre devices and parallels being utilized in last quarter of the show, i.e. Powerful closing ballad, etc.
My overall impression
Unconventional, inventive and entertaining.
