Press Three For More Options is George Orwell’s classic 1984 meets hokey 1970’s style variety show (think Donnie and Marie, Sonny and Cher, The Jackson 5 etc.) meets modern social media. In a dystopian future or possibly next week, the government has created a program through MegaMultiMedia (their newly created all for-profit media wing) in which they take over kids’ Youtube shows in order to control the youth, control the youth market and to create their own youth-focused propaganda.
Press 3 For More Options is a Youtube-esque show made by three sisters in their backyard. It’s silly, awkward and cute, full of little acts and bits, homemade music, gossip, makeovers, challenges, the usual. When MegaMultiMedia comes knocking on their door, the sisters are thrilled. Their big break! Imagine all the LIKES and FOLLOWS they will get now, and they can have celebrity guests, and cool music and great sets! Things get rolling quickly because MegaMultiMedia knows how to get things done. It’s all fabulous. That is until one sister starts to get wise to the fact that something isn’t right. Slowly she starts to push back on the control. But meanwhile, the opportunities and fans are growing. Pretty soon her pushback becomes full-fledged rebellion. Tension between the three sisters and between the sisters and the show ensues. The powers that be dig in more and their tactics grow ever more sinister as they remind the girls that breaking their contract holds dire consequences. The show must go on but the sisters are in for a fight for the truth, for their generation and for their souls.
