What I liked

Doug balances his comedic chops with an earnest story that never becomes melodramatic. His boundless energy is infectious as you just want to keep following his story.

The distinction between characters was impressive. I was never confused about who was who. And they were all fully developed, not just caricatures.

The staging was straight forward and drove the complicated story along. This could’ve gotten bogged down with unnecessary tech, but the simple use of it was very effective.

The use of the guitar to record and playback was so imaginative and an excellent choice for the character. To help be in control of a situation, even if you have no control.

What I didn't like

Dialogue moved a little fast at times that it was tough to keep up.

My overall impression

Doug Harvey takes you on a trip through time and space but never leaves you behind. Part science, part comedy, but at the root of it all is heart. The love we have for others, the emotional struggle of memories, and the need to survive help make this piece so much more. One of the best solo pieces you’ll see at Fringe this year.
