What I liked

The actors were fun, their performances were all solid. The staging was clever and innovative! All design choices (from lights to sound elements to set and costume) tied in well together, everything felt cohesive. I loved that none of the choices were subtle; everything was bold and confident and unapologetic.

Also, I LOVED THE TEABAG! I LOVED THE BEAR! I LOVED THE SWIMSUIT!

What I didn't like

Just a preference – I wish there was a bit more character differentiation. The writing requires the fast pace that the actors delivered, but I wanted more nuance in specific moments. The show never got too heavy, but I’d be curious to see how I would have been more emotionally affected if it went there.

My overall impression

Even standing in line, listening to someone play guitar and sing ‘Big Rock Candy Mountain’ while waiting to enter, I knew I was in for a treat! Then I entered the theater and the energy was palpable. These delightful discoveries continued throughout the production. And it all ended in a beautiful chaotic mess. The night felt like a pure celebration of theater, creation, collaboration, and fun.
