I loved that the story began as the two main characters were boys and you got to see what it looks like to fall in love over time. Both the main actors are VERY talented. I believed them as 7/8 year old boys and also as grown men.
The minimal staging helped to keep the focus on the relationship between Sid and Andy, and it worked. They managed to tackle so many issues from substance abuse to general growing up really really well.
I really enjoyed that this was a “real” queer story. Not one where everyone dies in the end. Where no one is happy. But what a lifetime can look like through the eyes of two people.
What I didn't like
Sometimes I wanted to know exactly how old they were because the passage of time wasn’t always clear. (Sometimes yes, sometimes no)
My overall impression
This show had so much depth to it that was really well conveyed by talented actors.
