What I liked

The use of percussion to create the mood, and to highlight beats was quite effective. Hypnotic at times. I felt the acting, particularly in the Armadillo, was very strong. I also though the director really did a nice job using the space. I thought some of the staging in the first play was really nice. The actors really worked together nicely in both plays. It’s a very talented cast.

What I didn't like

With the first play, I would consider sharpening the story to give the audience a clearer dramatic action to follow. I am also unclear about what the playwrights are trying to say with this piece. The second play – I found the ending did little to satiate the internal motivations for both characters, which is the heart of what we’re following. The older actor appeared to lack gun training. I would suggest not pointing it at the audience. Even with fake guns, a person with training knows the guns always point to the ground when you carry them.

My overall impression

Two very dramatic pieces that are loosely bound by the guilt theme, but each stand on their own.
