What I liked

The music numbers. The pace. The actors. The commitment.

What I didn't like

There were a few times the music drowned some words in the solo numbers but I watch movies with subtitles so that says something. I don’t like to miss a word. I hope that’s what it means…

My overall impression

As soon as the first number finished, I knew I was in good hands! How they managed to get each letter of “Pocketmon” in unison under three seconds was hilarious and catchy (I can’t stop attempting to recreate that rhythm). I was very impressed with the physicality, the music numbers and the vocal strength this cast displayed. From the towering presence-yet undeniably hilarious due to his commitment and comedic timing-of Niko Papastefanou to the lead Tommy Mckiernon who tackled this marathon of singing and acting embodying everything pertaining to the farcical premise of the show-to be the best, all the way to the trio of Team Sprockett (hope I got that right) comprised of three vivacious actors-Katy Wicker, Sydney Bell and David Stolworthy-who captured the nostalgic authenticity of the classic villains and displayed that with sheer tenacity becoming real life animation characters before our very eyes-their uproarious personas was truly evident in the audience’s resounding laughter. The whole cast worked exceptionally well exceeding my expectations and upon watching this show, you would think they have been rehearsing it for numerous months. Hats off to writer/director Brandon Pfeltz for creating this piece which situates itself as the fulcrum of Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious theatre!
