What I liked
Fantastic cast that not only physically resemble the real people, but embody their essence with lots of idiosyncratic grace notes in the performances. Excellent chemistry between the actors. Strong writing. Great use of news clips during the scene transitions to provide further context and help establish the stakes. Strong staging with limited sets and lighting.
What I didn't like
Despite having a satisfying resolution, the show does suffer a bit from feeling like the middle chapter from a larger piece (which it is). However, if the whole play from which this show is excerpted is as good, then I look forward to seeing it in its entirety in the future!
My overall impression
A sharp and compelling take on a pivotal moment in the life of John Lennon.
