One prop consistently failed and one piece of scenery collapsed —but hey, it’s a fringe festival!
My overall impression
While this play is astutely and often raucously funny, it is also surprisingly deep. Yes, I might be particularly vulnerable because I’ll be forever traumatized by the 2016 election results, but I found moment in the play … haunting. The performances are uniformly terrific, the direction smart and resourceful, and the writing negotiates a complexly absurdist plot with grace and wit — and brings a multitude of well- articulated characters to life.
