Lincoln 2020

Taking a premise that could have been fumbled in the wrong hands and making it into an exceptional and poignant show that will challenge the audience to reconsider the power of political nostalgia and what it truly means to be a good fit for leadership. The show is as funny and clever as it is thoughtful. Just when you think you know where it's going there is a quick and sharp turn that leads to more delightful insight and comedy. The cast does a great job I enjoyed all the characters and felt every performance added to the overall show. Holiday Kinard has written an excellent script filled to the brim with humor and wit. I was not told anything about this show prior to seeing it. The opening monologue tells you everything you need to know to be swept away on this crazy fun journey. I absolutely loved this show. The concept is so out there, but so intelligently written, and so beautifully performed by this excellent ensemble cast, that as the lights were fading for the final curtain, I found myself wanting to stay in the world the writer, director and cast had just created.... full review

Lincoln 2020 is a wildly entertaining piece of poignant theatre. The structure does lend itself more to film than stage but usually that results in losing our attention or taking us out of the piece- and I was all in for the entire ride! After reading some less than hospitable reviews about this piece, I tried to go in with an open mind. Thank goodness I did. What a riot this show was. Relevant, hysterical, well-written and directed.
