I loved the message that, in the end, we have to accept our parents for who they are.

My overall impression
A beautifully crafted story that shares one woman’s journey from her homeland of Czechoslovakia to the United States, and how it affected her and her relationship with her parents (especially her mother). Dagmar’s story is a wonderful metaphor of how generational differences define who we are, no matter how much we try to run from them.
