What I liked
Where do I start? It was obvious to me BEFORE I read the bios in the program that Jessica and Nicky are professional and trained actors. As an audience member on the front row, I was enthralled and it never felt like they were performing. I felt the pain of Carol, as well Andrew’s longing masked by his Christianity and “good boy nature”. They were definitely WERKING !!! This could have easily been a dramedy on television. Jessica is a brilliant writer with how she wove difficult themes with humor and vulnerability. Keep on writing. Streets is watching and waiting!
What I didn't like
Is it possible to improve greatness?
My overall impression
This is REAL LIFE. An unlikely encounter between strangers that turns out to be just what both of them needed. The healing you need is not convenient and shows up at the damnedest time. I feel like Nas’s “All I Need Is One Mic” is appropriate here because the setting is simple but the writing and performance hit hard like sweet 16 bars. School is in session and I’m here to learn! GO SEE THIS! As a matter of fact, whenever Jessica puts out anything, I’m copping a ticket coz this show exhibits the caliber of what she brings is always at a high level.
