What I liked

The balance of sadness with comedy. Jessica does an amazing job of not only injecting a lightheartedness to heavy themes (grief, loss, god, love), but even more impressively, by having truly lived in moments of sadness in a genuinely funny play. Her monologue towards the end was a really nice moment of truth telling that felt real.

What I didn't like

I didn’t think the amount of “fucks” was truly necessary, only because it made some of the initial dialogue a little repetitive/one note.

My overall impression

Very impressive debut by first time Writer/Director Jessica Moreno, who also stars in the show. It’s a simple but very funny premise: a woman is morning her late husband from a bench in the woods, when a hiker interrupts her to get her car moved (she’s blocking him in). The weight of the grief from both actors is felt, and the transition to moments of comedy is seamless.
