What I liked

The script is one of Nguyen’s tightest and the cast was up to the challenge of taking his words and making them pop. Standouts included Kristin Walker as “Lilly”, Vivi Thai as Agnes – but, most importantly – a scene stealing Brad Milison as “Steve”, who owns the stage with an impeccable timing and awkward charm.

What I didn't like

If you’re going to tackle a Nguyen piece, your tech has to be flawless. Unfortunately, the sound seemed a little rushed together, and the projections did more to distract from the story than add to it, which is NOT how this show is supposed to work seeing as how those elements are crucial to its effective implementation.

My overall impression

One of Qui Nguyen’s more emotionally resonant pieces, brought to life with energy and verve by a cast that was having so much fun it couldn’t help but be infectious.
