What I liked

Watching their love story unfold. Getting a glimpse inside a beautiful, devoted partnership. Hearing how they both grew into their true and best selves, together.

What I didn't like

I’d love to see the harmonica woven in through the story, both in a way that grounds more in the narrative and not just as accent and because Marla plays it so well and the music is imbued with so much emotion.

I also wish transphobia didn’t exist. Love is love. Happy Pride <3

My overall impression

My Trans Wife will immerse you in a kind of love story many of us will not experience and one that is far too rarely portrayed on stage and screen. But it is about something we all understand- love. May well all find someone to look at and be looked at by, the way Mimi and Marla look at each other.
