About the Project
In this one woman play I tell and reenact stories from my life and from my grandmother’s life, both of us Jewish women between the ages of 15-22. I contrast, with humor and poignance, her coming of age in Nazi Germany with my coming of age in California in the 90’s. I tell both of our heart-stopping stories as well as our daily lives, our strengths and flaws. The project is a tribute to her love, tenacity, beauty and resilience and a reminder that ordinary people were the victims of an atrocity no one saw coming and didn’t realize the true horror of even while it was happening.
