What I liked

Congrats to Zulima Tristancho for totally holding her own. All too often shows which touch on these kind of subjects put an actress in lingerie and she looks awkward and terrified. Tristancho was able to show all sides of this character.. starting with the strong sensual answer to all fantasies. She wasn’t doing the typical ‘trying to be sexy’ she was just simply, confidently, ‘being’. Add to that all the nuances of trapped, hurt, degraded, and even feeling empathy for the others in the chat room, with very little dialogue this is no mean feat!!

Loved how Arnie Ellis took control of the room both as Moderator in the chat room and in theatre as announcer to the show.

Moreno and Valenzuela’s ability to switch from their own world to connecting with us through the fourth wall really tied both worlds together, making us really forced to be part of what was going on rather than objective onlookers.

Husler’s presence and command of the stage for me was the start of the show, all else leading up to this was setting the scene in order to drop this bomb on us.

What I didn't like

The text projections as the men were typing as so faint to read and so far away from the actors that I had trouble reading and following the action so I gave up and just watched the action, which then meant my eye was distracted more from the action by the moving text. I like the concept of seeing the text as they type but either the text needs to be clearer or in a different placement – I loved how it covered the entire back wall when they were innudated with comments so maybe see if a different placement works for the earlier chat section.

I felt it ended too soon and wanted to see some kind of payoff or consequence after Wishmaster’s revelations and exit, for me, the show had just got going and then ended abruptly after.

My overall impression

Bold and honest
