A delightful rendition of a woman's journey of love expressed through poetry, dance, rap and acting. A one woman show that was able to bring the characters to life in such a way that made me want to meet them in person!... full review

The Maya in Me was a riveting show that opened the doors to the life and experiences of Tameka Bob! Tameka is an A-1 storyteller. This one woman show was well written and without a doubt a master performance. She took me to the streets of New Orleans as she relentlessly searched for “G”. She took me back to the 90’s when she spit self-written bars to the tune of some of my favorite old school hip hop songs. She kept me on my toes surprising me with twist and turns as led me through her tale of hurt and disappointment on her journey to become a doctor. She lifted my spirits with dance and poetry with the lending hand of the great Maya Angelou. And she kept me amused and chuckling as she re-enacted scenes with multiple characters. This play ... full review

Captivating from beginning to end, a low key therapy session if you will from a variety of perspectives brilliantly displayed by Dr. Tameka Bob..... ... full review

I was heavily blown away by the awe invoking details of this production. From beginning to ending I was graciously amused and just couldn't get enough. I appreciate the divine honesty and craving truth of this collection of tragic events centered around multiple love stories. I was soooo comedically intoxicated that after one viewing I decided to attend all three shows. Please go and support this love affair with art. Tameka Bob is Brilliant.... full review

Tameka Bob's eclectic solo show about her journey in life and the parallels of Dr. Maya Angelou includes stunning artistic levels for the audience. There's literally never a dull moment. Bob was able to take us on a visual walk down memory lane framed with Angelou's words as we were sprinkled with pirouettes. The fascinating thing about "The Maya in Me" is that it touches on culture and character, multiple levels of each. Therefore, this solo show can entertain the mildest audience member to the sauciest! This theatrical experience entails sorrow, laughter, pain, love, disgust, anguish, hope and liberation via dance, poetry, rap and a script full of life...anyone's life.
