Man. What a talented group of women, the gold flecks made them look like goddesses. Loved the different mediums used with Obama's recording interspersed between the performances. I found it interesting that the situation was painted so bleak (how can you make one care if they don't?), yet at the very end, they provided a simple and approachable first step toward a solution, accepting the history and talking to those that are different from us. Simple but not easy. ... full review

Maybe the show was off because according to the other reviews I should’ve left reflective and mind blown and I wasn’t either. ... full review

I LOVE THIS SHOW! This is exactly the type of theater that fuels my soul. I kid you not when I say me and my poster designer could not stop talking about the show for like an hour. The way the handled the topic was so engaging and different. It created so many conversations and was just absolutely powerful. Thank you so much for creating this and for being brave and vulnerable to share it with us. ... full review

Everyone needs to see this!!! Such a powerful and touching piece. Honestly - how do we get everyone in the world to see this? A compelling discussion of race in our country. Every woman on that stage commands with power and dignity. I was deeply moved. It's the kind of theatre that you need to keep discussing after you've seen it -- gets you thinking, and starts the real conversations that we need to be having. ... full review

Othello & Otis is poetry in motion. This production is stirring and startling, in the way it so eloquently shows the inner lives of African Americans. It interweaves the searing truth of scholar James Baldwin's words, the mystery and heartbreak of Othello, with deftly used dance and soaring soulful vocals to create a highly memorable experience. I could not recommend this production more to those who are searching for more empathy in this United States. ... full review

Othello and Otis inspires me. The ecclectic juxtaposition of Elizabethan era sentiments on humanity with political comments on modern times and soulful music painted a picture of Western Civilization's struggle with race. ... full review

An intense and grounding experience (from the program to the final blackout), this production mixes movement, audience immersion, music, and devised/documentary theater to call audiences to examine their own privileges and biases and look through the eyes of others.... full review
