What I liked
The choreography, especially when the solo performers highlighted their unique skills and athleticism, really hit home. The blend of beatbox and performance live showcased real soul and presence and skill.
What I didn't like
Structurally the arc and flow of the first section could have tightened up to help push through to the most stunning images that came later on in the piece. The writing was strong conceptually but could have gone further into the personal experiences behind the knowledge that was gained from the experience.
My overall impression
Very talented group of performers lead by uniquely talented and honest choreography and direction by Carrie Mikuls. Show structured to travel well, in full or in parts, but would benefit from a larger production with many dancers and full production value.
