The immersiveness, the dance and beatbox pairing, the humor in several of the pieces.
What I didn't like
Perhaps a little tighter in the ending is allI can think of.
My overall impression
I CAME TO MAKENOISE previewed to a sold out house and excited audience, and the performance reflected this energy, in kind. Some of the performers emerge from within the audience, creating an immersive and inclusive atmosphere. Carrie Mikuls’ viscerally feminine hip-hop choreography and political spoken word paired with the masculine baritone and mesmerizing beatboxing of John “Faahz” Merchant is a perfect blending in this politically moving and often humorous piece. Catch this show at the Hollywood Fringe and be prepared for an improv beatbox hip-hop dance off at the end!
