What I liked
Loved the characters, Ella’s charisma and energy, the use of humor, and the way that she came at race, identity and culture through the central metaphor.
What I didn't like
Perhaps a stronger narrative drive through the storyline.
My overall impression
A great use of hair as a metaphor for identity and relationships! The characters were amazing and very distinct. I particularly loved Ella’s Haitian mom.
