The magnificent writing married this mythological tale with current events and modern language so well - It was seamless, to the point and real, without losing the lightness of a musical. I can't recommend this show enough.... full review

Great energy and a clever mad-up of Ancient Greek myth and modern environmental concerns. The show was fast-paced, tuneful and well choreographed. The young cast was enthusiastic and professional.... full review

So damn good. Narcissus & Echo is an Eco-musical that is breathtakingly well-directed/written by Elizabeth Lanier. It's like 'Hair' meets the environmental water crisis, set against the backdrop of post-coital Mount Olympus, replete with Ancient Greek shenanigans & mythological hi-jinks. The exceptionally well-cast actors nail it with 12-part harmonies, excellent timing & spot-on choreography. It left me yearning for more - to see a longer version, in a bigger theatre, with more set, costume & a bigger band. This is all a good thing: Lanier’s production achieves great heights through creativity, tight rehearsal, strong cast and excellent writing. ‘Narcissus’ is socially conscious and unashamedly funny - it has a lightness of touch and de... full review

You know those shows your friend invites you to and your counting the minutes until it's over?...yeah- thats not this show. The quality of this production from a content, talent and entertainment perspective is a 10 across the board. Not one second of the show is lagging. The quick pace, witty dialogue and seamless transitions make this a show coming out for. I hope to see more work from this director/writer/producer. ... full review

This modern adaptation of the Narcissus and Echo myth blends it with current environmental issues surrounding clean and accessible water. Written and directed by Elizabeth Lanier and original music by Ian Michaels and Jetta Juriansz, this crew has created a show that is both humorous and affecting. Echo (played Jetta Juriansz, who displays a gorgeous voice) works as the marketing director for Watair, a synthetic water company owned by Zeus. Hera, Zeus’ wife, owns a rival synthetic water company called Rainsip. Consumed by jealousy, Hera takes away Echo’s voice leaving her only able to repeat what’s said to her. Needless to say, this affects her ability to do her job marketing Watair. She returns to the forest where she meets Narcissus (a ... full review

This show was a riot. An original musical rooted in environmental issues, inspired by an outside the box take on the pressing tale from Greek mythology. Potentially a nod to the music and style of "HAIR," each of the performers channel explosive energy in each of their roles, delivering a powerful message through a very unique approach. This show is the perfect balance of music and comedy that could definitely be developed into a higher production quality show in the near future. But, see it while you can at Fringe, because they really made a lot out of a little. Great use of space and theatre resources. Never a dull moment and you will quickly latch on to a favorite character.... full review
