What I liked
This show was not what I expected at all! I had thought it would be something scripted, like a play. But, while this show has a foundation in old tales and rumors, the charming host brings the show very much into the present, as he interacts with the audience throughout the performance.
My girlfriend and I were there together, and we are very different personalities (I’m a believer and she is a cynic). We both thoroughly enjoyed the show and highly recommend it to others!
What I didn't like
It seemed like some of the tech could have been tightened up, but since it was a preview, I figure they are still working on that. I’m sure it will sync up between now and opening!
My overall impression
This is a show worth seeing. You won’t find anything else like it at Fringe this year. If you enjoy spectacle, audience interaction, and adorable British hosts, you’ll be sure to enjoy Charlatans!
