Honestly, I found the show captivating. I truly liked it, so the “what I liked” answer would have to be “everything!”
What I didn't like
More please. I also want to see a film version! I honestly can’t think of anything to add to the stage version— there were some props, minimal but engaging. I want to also see a version that shows the story integrated in the Nebraska landscape, with a contrast between that and the San Francisco life Todd left behind.
My overall impression
Honest, entertaining, engaging from first moment to last word, and strikingly unsentimental. Even If Its Wrong is a rare jewel of Midwestern restraint and authentic emotion. Todd Pickering’s performance is authentic and captivating. The father-son journey element was especially strong.
