An extraordinary and timely piece. It is witty and stunningly
prescient. An actor with the range of Hal Holbrook would have been able to bring Ingersoll to full bore, letting us savor him joyfully, instead of having to leave, wishing for more of those stunning quotes wanting to know what the MAN was feeling, and what drove him to dare to speak in spite of vilification and because he was sought after and honored in his time. Ernest is a passionate writer/performer, and I always leave his shows smarter and more 'aware' than when I entered. He is likable, lovable, earnest, and he always cares about his subjects so much that love just spills into the audience. His shows are always such a treat. Ernest brought this man's story to life for me in a very vivid and engaging way staring straight into the eyes of each audience member. This one man show is educational, moving and inspiring. Definitely go see it....

Should be called INGERSOLL ROCKS! My goodness I enjoyed this show. A beautiful and inspiring solo piece about an American patriot and thinker who’s been virtually ignored by history, yet whose words and advice on saving our democracy are powerful and necessary even today. So well performed by Ernest Kearney. Thank you for bringing it to Fringe in such a time of need! Kearney manages to give the 19th century “great traveling orator” feeling/presence, yet made it 100% conversational, so I was able to imagine him both at the podium of an arena, as well as at the dinner table buttering a dinner roll, smiling confidently, knowing that his arguments, filled with inspired turn of phrase and based on science rather than faith, were feet-on-the-groun...
