A beautiful and moving show based on a mesmerizing conceit. The very premise is reason enough to see this show, but the execution of the movement and touching portrayals make it even better. Thoroughly adored this show.... full review

A stunning, beautiful piece that is absolutely captivating and brilliant. I fell in love right away once the dancing began, the hauntingly beautiful choreography gives the whole piece life. As the show continues and the thread of the dancers weaves in and out there is a movement and energy to the show that feels like waves or vibrations, it is hypnotic. I can't say enough amazing things about the dancers in this show! This play by Amanda Newman really dives into exploring relationships and what having a soulmate means. Each of the actors truly explores their characters and brings them to life. If you can catch Stringmates during Fringe, DO IT!!!... full review

Interesting concept... a little on the nose. Also i felt disconnected (and a little insulted) that the ideas explored through this story all operate on the presupposition that soul mates really exist. This also may be me imposing my own personal response onto the script, but i couldnt help but feel there were some subtle religious and even homophobic undertones. That may be a stretch... and thats not to say that was the authors intention, but if im able to derive that from the work in many places it may be something to examine. ... full review

A touching, family-friendly exploration of the concept of destiny and connection, Stringmates uses the extended metaphor of actual thread connecting "soulmates" in choreographed dance and dramatic scenes. At times funny, and very often poignant, this show creatively examines what a soulmate truly is-- perhaps romantic, but perhaps simply deep friendship, or deep, meaning-giving inspiration. Beautifully written and executed, and with no "language" or overly sexual scenes, it's a perfect Fringe option if you have a younger audience member you want to introduce to theatricality, or if you have a more conservative relative in town.... full review
