A gorgeous, lovely piece of work not to be missed. Blamed: An Established Fiction is a delightfully feminine, gentle work of ensemble storytelling that does not shy away from the pain inflicted on and by women over the course of history and mythology but also exudes the joy of being propped up by and celebrating with your sisters from all walks of life. Through dance, narration. shadow puppets, and very clever staging we are taken through stories with a common theme: women getting the shaft time and time again. One of the notes of beautiful direction I most loved was that after each story the actor who had portrayed the lead character (who inevitably had a horrible end) was embraced and buoyed by one of her fellow actors. The staging is v... full review

This has been the most impressive show I’ve seen so far. This show takes a look at classic stories, through wonderful storytelling that uses visuals, singing, dance, and music from a live band, where a woman is blamed for doing something wrong. The amount of talent on that stage is second to none. I think there were around 12-15 people (including the band) and each one of them had their own highlights during the show. With that many people on a small stage, you might think there was some frantic chaos, but it was definitely the opposite. What you did see was wonderfully orchestrated choreography that will make you be in awe of the intricacies of people weaving. It’s a beautiful thing to see and experience. Angelic voices, radiant da... full review

"Sorrow is a means to an end" is possibly one of the most breathtakingly beautiful moments I have ever witnessed on stage. But this comment could apply much of this show. Poignant and celebratory by turns, this is a show about exposure and reclamation. These women explore painful stories, turning over the rocks of common understanding to reveal the steady drumbeat of ugliness that flows through history and literature. Although it's hard they carry each other forward and revel in each exposure in the hope that *that* one will not cause future harm. ... full review

Absolutely amazing. I'm telling everyone to see this show. It's fantastic. The concept is incredibly timely and important - by putting all these stories in one place, it creates an undeniable, eye-opening moment that shows the injustices women have faced, ingrained in story. It's amazing. ... full review
