What I liked
There’s only so much one can say about a one-person-at-a-time interactive experience without spoiling it for anyone, so let’s just say that I found the immediacy of being asked questions to be something that I, personally, was quite entranced by. It forced me to leap into the scenario without any real guidelines. For me, that’s a big plus. For some audience members, it may be a little more intimidating.
What I didn't like
Given that this is a prologue for a longer piece, ‘improved’ is a hard thing to discuss as well. Plus at least for me, the experience was quite interesting and I walked away intrigued enough to want to see where it all goes—and that’s clearly the goal here, so well done!
My overall impression
I grabbed a ticket for this as fast as I possibly could—and I’m glad I did. Immersive theater grows rapidly in Los Angeles, and while this is just a taste of a larger experience to come in October, that taste is both creepy, compelling and VERY interactive indeed.
