Sofie Khan has a clear, engaging writer's voice in her storytelling that I can't wait to hear more of. From humor to horror to shared humanity, not a moment is forced. Beautifully done.... full review

As a Pakistani American Muslim, I'm used to hearing stories about people who convert to Islam and learn about the struggles they go through while being a convert. It was definitely an eye opener and an important use can for future dialogue for people who have different ethnic backgrounds and beliefs that deal with the issues that we do. The Pakistani and Muslim communities can definitely be tough to crack into especially if you aren't part of the mainstream groups of being either desi or Arab or Sunni. Throw in being half Mexican and Pakistani, and a sexual orientation other than straight and you have quite the melting pot. ... full review

Sofie is a very talented writer and performer and I am so happy to see sold-out houses for a show about a unique cultural upbringing and story of very non-traditional love. It was bravery in a time people are still getting offended left and right, filled w light and truth. And good rapping!!!!!... full review

I've been following her performances since back when she lived in Chicago. Sofie Khan is genuine, heartfelt, hilarious and most of all, BRAVE! Beyond the usual performance jitters, it takes a lot of courage to share her unique story. Growing up in racially segregated Chicago, with a Pakistani father and Mexican mother, made for plenty of entertaining and touching stories. Impersonations, a secret Catholic baptism, a Muslim arranged marriage, homophobia, Islamophobia, a rap performance en español and audience participation-I've never seen a show like "Mexistani!" It's a performance not to miss. ... full review

Sophie is a wonderful, thoughtful, charismatic storyteller offering a delicious stew about her mixed heritage. Her delightful impressions of her family, particularly of her mother and father, and how they raised her to be the wonderful, positive woman she is today, are a treat to hear! ... full review
