I loved watching this show. I hadn’t known anything about Joumana Haddad and the play revealed her life and the challenges of many Arab women in ways that I hadn’t previously considered. I especially appreciated the imagination and humor in Nagham Wehbe’s adaptation and direction, which incorporated dance sequences, documentary video, and a humorous dumb show that opened the play. She wisely uses a multicultural cast to emphasize the point that these women could be anyone and this story is above all one of human hearts reacting to circumstances. Cynthia Yelle, who plays the central woman, is a star and she lights up all her scenes. She brings a depth and mystery to her interactions and she dances beautifully. And I really enjoyed all t... full review

Very creative, powerful and important work from Nagham Wehbe. It made me think, feel and questions my unconscious prejudice with humour and compassion. ... full review

Parking (not!) almost won, but I prevailed! Hugest apologies for being late. But the play was a true thought provoker. Shukran for doing this! I went in thinking it was a generic overlook at Arab women... (mostly Muslim women), but the last parts about Beirut hit especially hard. Knowing so many Beirutis back in the 60's and loving them, what an eye opener.... always thought of them as cosmopolitan and liberated, and how refreshing for that part of the world. No doubt the French influence after WWI. Beiruti ladies seemed miles apart from all the other Mid East countries... and then the bloody pointless wars started in '75. Always wanted to go to Beirut more than anywhere else... never made it. And the POV that Christian Arab women a... full review

A really nice play , with a unique identity to it. The play is about a Lebanese woman, but also about all women , who are refusing to accept the norms all over the world As a Lebanese myself , who also lived couple wars, the play touched me and I found myself crying towards the end but I try to be objective here. The director Nagham is really talented and did a great job with her vision , she brought together diverse talented actresses and actors from different backgrounds, would recommend people to see it ... full review

A very interesting story for women, by women which I love. And it shed some light on what it really means to be an Arab woman, clearing up all the stereotypes and misconceptions. My favorite line of the show was something along the lines of- if you didn't know there are liberated arab women then that's your problem, not ours. I loved that!! Very good show!!... full review
