I think there were a lot of great things about Orange Mango Cabaret. Most importantly, every piece in the play was purposeful, all of them trying to open the audience’s eye to the injustices that are ever-present in our society. I thought that overall, the pieces did a great job at exploring their various subject matters in a theatrical and engaging way. The play had a great pace to it, there was no dead space due to the great monologues delivered by the host.
What I didn't like
Not a knock against the show itself, but I typically don’t like “vignette” plays, that being said this show was one of the better ones I’ve seen in that genre.
My overall impression
This show came at an excellent time, and is important, political theatre of this nature is an excellent way to use art to produce a change in our society. I think that this play would be wonderful for anyone who is extremely frustrated with our government/society (I imagine that’s most everyone) and needs a way to get out the frustration. I really enjoyed this show and would highly recommend it.
