Loved the accents! Bravo Twon! Loved the choices of the nurses and their bet. Kept it modern and relatable while taking us back through time.
What I didn't like
In an earlier show, I believe it worked when the narrators up top were in dark as the tale would unfold. But when they accidentally(?) remained lit, it pulled focus. But everyone handled it well. That’s the skills of a great cast.
My overall impression
Kudos to Matthew Robinson. This play was well cast. I enjoyed the use of the Theater for the “storytelling” framework. Loved the costumes and how the character of Mary Seacole was portrayed, meaning to see her conviction to others face to face, but in private, allowing her fears to air out. Also very grateful to have a diverse cast and a new story to add to all of our education.
