What I liked
The acting was excellent, the accents impeccable, the rhythms distinctive. Joshua Bitton was incredible as the bullied worker, showing levels and depths and pathos that were tangible and heartbreaking. Jennifer Pollono’s direction was stupendous. This play was a piece of art— it engendered a long conversation between myself and my friend. However, I also wasn’t sure that humanity was worth anything by the end of the play.
What I didn't like
While I dislike Hollywood endings, and wouldn’t have been happy with Mr. Bitton’s character suddenly overcoming his challenges, I also felt that him taking to the bottle was weirdly Hollywood in the other direction. My biggest problem was with the writing— though it was brilliant in it’s ability to depict the intricacies of bullying language, I never really knew what drove the other male worker to be a bully, and felt some desire to know more about that character.
My overall impression
Excellently directed and acted piece of art that depressed the hell out of me.
