Every year in recovery, Sarah tries something more terrifying than she’s ever done before. After skydiving, she was at a loss. What could top that? Finally, it hit her – a one woman show.
I LOVED the courage and honesty that pervaded this entire piece. The set was so intricate, each piece laden with meaning. The show was very well thought out and Sarah’s delivery of her own story is stellar.
What I didn't like
My overall impression
So many one person shows can be so self-serving. Through Sarah’s palpable discomfort and greenness to entertainment (she is a world-class therapist IRL), it’s obvious to the audience that she’s doing this because it matters, not for some masturbatory purpose of being on stage. She’s a heck of a lot braver than I am! Great job, Sarah! I can’t wait to see it later in the run once you’re more comfortable.
