I really enjoyed Mike Schlitt’s Jesus Ride at Hollywood Fringe 2013. He returns to the stage this Fringe with Patriot Act in what can be described as a participatory seminar/lecture/Ted Talk-style/theatre experiment aimed at [re]igniting discussions around patriotism, civic duty and how to address what we perceive to be what ails America. PATRIOT ACT Less play than town hall meeting, writer and performer Mike Schlitt voices his concerns for the country and shares some of his appreciable knowledge of the nation’s history before bringing the audience on stage to discuss methods of preserving the republic.
