I fell in love with 4 Clowns last year at the Hollywood Fringe 2010, so naturally I was elated to hear this talented group was working on a new production. 4 Clowns Romeo and Juliet is just as (if not, even more) hilarious, grotesque, and magical. You are guaranteed to chuckle, cheer, swoon, and squirm with this wonderfully smart and committed cast. This is clowning at it's finest and will leave you rolling out of the theatre laughing. Jeremy Aluma and his cast of clowns are brilliant once again!... full review

This show delivers on all levels: a clever concept, cleanly executed by talented and adept performers. Full of hilarious tidbits for those in the Shakespearean know, it's completely accessible to anyone with even the vaguest understanding of the classic plot. Each player fully realizes his clown persona, then embodies his R&J character with that clown's personality, always to hilarious results. Surprisingly solid vocals and instrumental music are an added delight, and the live piano accompaniment throughout is a wonderfully vaudevillian touch. Watch out for unexpected lewdness one does not usually associate with Shakespeare's most romantic lovers - these actors go there and they absolutely don't EVER let up. I'll never be able to watch the b... full review

I rate this show at five stars in every category. I had a wonderful time and laughed continuously from the moment the four incredibly talented clowns made their first appearance until the all too soon ending. The show is well paced with excellent direction by Jeremy Aluma and is scored by a marvelously talented musician who perfectly compliments the delicious madness on stage. Go see this show! ... full review

This is clowning for a whole new generation. Sleek, modern. The way they mix old style with new substance is nothing short of revolutionary!... full review

Four Clowns: Romeo and Juliet is a theatrical treat! The group's take on the classic tragedy makes for a non-stop night of laughter.  Alexis, Kevin, Raymond and Zach are truly gifted, light on their feet and moving effortlessly from scene to scene, engaging with the audience on every level.  The production is bare bones and simple: a red curtain, trunk, two ladders and a live pianist. Ridiculous, raunchy, and not skimping on the pathos, 4 Clowns brings to light the Bard's sense of humour that is so often overlooked.  A must!  Go! I know that it's juvenile to laugh at sight gags and sex jokes, but when it's done this perfect, no one is immune. I was shooting photography for this show and was laughing so hard that it was difficult to follow all of the movement on stage and get the shots that I wanted. Of course, I did get them, because it's a great visual piece and I could't miss the chance to get every single bit of it on "film". You absolutely have to see this show!... full review

I saw the 2011 Fringe preview of Four Clowns: Romeo & Juliet on June 11th and it is outstanding!! I was impressed by the creativity, originality, movement, comedy, and humanity of the original Four Clowns from Hollywood Fringe 2010 and now Aluma is at it again with, I believe, an even stronger incarnation. The story of Romeo & Juliet is an amazing arena of emotion for these bold characters to play, parody, and perform with zero inhibitions. The kind of theatre you wish happened more in Hollywood.... full review
