One of the most interesting art forms I’ve seen at the Fringe. Deana Barone explores the theatrical form, not only breaking the 4th wall but even becoming an audience member herself, as she makes audience members participate in her play.
Deana is a great performer, jumping frantically from one character to the next at the beginning, then taking her time to immerse herself in the characters. I was impressed by Deana’s improvisation skills and her ability to adapt to the audience’s reactions.
The play’s staging is great, as we move from one side of the stage to the next to experience a different character/scene. Deana makes great usage of the whole space, including the audience’s.
What I didn't like
My overall impression
An intelligent play that explores various artistic directions. I experienced a captivating art form, almost an experimental show where everything is carefully planned, but the audience doesn’t know what to expect. An intelligent work, a brilliantly structured play in its writing and staging. Deana Barone is an amazing performer, equally skilled at embodying characters as she is at improvising.
