This show is based on a real-life experiment for a woman to try living as a man to prove how easy it is to be a man. As a mother of boys, I am very conscious of the emotional double-standard that we place on boys versus girls, and this play helped me really understand how pervasive the need for men to be tough and in control really is.
The show incorporates a lot of fun and silly multi-media clips and animations.
I also deeply appreciated getting to hear the perspective not only of a woman being a man, but for an Asian American woman to take on the identity of an Asian American man. The homophobia that came up in the story was also very interesting.
What I didn't like
This is an ideal Fringe show.
My overall impression
The storytelling was well-paced and the new insights that I walked away from the theater with are going to stay with me for a long time—it was an eye-opening experience.
