Legit offering from Writer, Director, Star, Ryan Lisman. Normally I am very leery of anybody wearing those three hats in one show, but it works out here. I wonder what else we might have seen with one or two more pairs of eyes on the piece, but what-ifs aren't a reason to stay away. ...

A very unique love story told in a sincere way. It makes you question normality when it comes to love and relationships. What is normal? What types of love exist? What makes you feel important? I especially appreciated the brave acting and the risks that were taken in telling this story. There's not enough of that anymore....

I came into this play with no conception of what I was going to see. What I found was a play that ultimately is about the meaning of love. What is love--who can love whom--is love fragile--is it forever--is it powerful--is it salvation, or damnation, or worthless? The characters in this play are all circling around the idea of love and that's a play that is really worth seeing.
Unfortunately, the play that currently exists is deeply flawed and in need of revision before that greater play can shine through. Choices often seem to be made by both characters and events simply and only so that the plot can continue or change at the playwright's whim. Some directing choices seem to have been made equally for similar expediency or plot-moving e...

Dark, challenging and disturbing... this is a show that demands you to think. Emotionally charged night of heavy drama, definitely worth checking out!...

Absolute Zero (How Lovers and Sad People Hold up the World) is a very dark and intriguing story that is as loving as it is disturbing. Jim, a 32-year-old man in love with his 17-year-old neighbor Charles, learns that Charles will be going away to college and just wants to get to know him so he kidnaps him and keeps him tied up in his basement. After a few weeks and realizing Jim is not there to hurt him, Charles starts opening up and the two soon learn that they actually have a lot in common and develop a connection to one another. Meanwhile, Charles girlfriend and brother find a sexual tension between the two and act and explore on it as a way to cope with the disappearance of Charles with no way of finding him in sight. When Charles turn...

Not a good first effort by the writer-director-actor (= vanity production). Script was incredulous and immature, with audience laughing as if a comedy because it was so bad. Try again....
