For fringeview.com. Genre-parody is a staple of the Sacred Fools long-running late-night show Serial Killers where this show was born. Peter Fluet has refined his run of episodes into an hour long comedy that can more accurately mimic the structure of the shows that he is skewering.
Carrie Keranen plays Lynn Alvarodo, a manically hard-working cop whose partner has just been killed. She has a long-suffering husband (Pete Caslavka) and a father who is also her boss (Peter Fluet). Lamprey: Weekend Of Vengeance is a fast-paced, energetic, in your face show filled to the brim with comedic genius and hilarity. I honestly can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. Peter Fluet's writing is spot on and to put it simply: brilliant. The entire ensemble is perfectly cast with the incredible Carrie Keranen leading the way. Seriously, Carrie Keranen is an unstoppable force and so insanely talented! This is one show not to be missed at Fringe. One of my favorites this year for sure!...

Lamprey is an over the top, outlandish, buddy-cop gone wrong thrill ride. It is non-stop and the gags come fast and furious. There are so many aspects of this play that wouldn’t work if the cast weren’t 100% committed to the outrageous mannerisms and circumstances they find themselves in. Director Victor Isaac has cast this show beautifully, so instead of coming across as absurd, Peter Fluet’s script comes across as funny. Much of this is thanks to the indomitable performance of Carrie Keranen in the leading role of Lamprey and Pete Kaslavka in the role of her husband, the quintessential straight man. In a world of explosions, yelling and betrayal he is the quiet reminder that Romp and Roll is in the morning. If over the top camp is not your...
