What I liked
Wow! RUBY, a barrel of laughs and a musical delight all rolled into one absolutely incredible show! The amazingly talented performers kept me smiling and laughing out loud the entire time. Christina Rose, starring as Ruby, was in a word, magnificent! She really shows off her comedy chops as the cute quirky girl next door whose trying to figure it all out. Christina’s hilarious comedic timing kept the audience roaring, and her beautiful voice was that of a song bird that took our breath away. The powerhouse Saudia Yasmein, starring as Glendale (Ruby’s fairy Godmother), commanded the stage with her sassy attitude and diva pop vocals. The comedic chemistry between Saudia and Christina was a perfect match to keep the audience entertained and on it’s toes. The handsome and awkwardly charming goofball Tom, played by Chris Smith, goes through wildly extreme and funny character changes with a big heart…and some mesmerizing hips. Look out SNL, cause “Live from LA, it’s Chris Smith!” I was thoroughly entertained by the elaborate and interesting dance numbers that had flavors of the 70’s style mixed with modern jazz of 2016. The creator and composer/lyricist Scott Claus truly brought genius to the musical theatre stage with this hit show. You will be singing his songs all the way home…happily. I felt like I took a magical journey over the rainbow and couldn’t stop laughing. I give it 5 thumbs up (now I just need to get 3 more thumbs, lol). So much fun!
