What I liked
This play is electric. The text itself is poetic, funny, dark and heartbreaking all at once. The audience gets pulled in right away by Shaw and Moroski’s performances. Their on stage chemistry is a match made in heaven, a delicate balance. Shaw’s moments of stillness and silence, paired up with Moroski’s explosive emotional shifts are incredibly engaging.
One minute you’re afraid and disgusted and on the next you feel a knot in your throat and tears in your eyes, these characters are complex and very very human. You want to listen to what they’re saying and you want to be taken by surprise by what they are not.
Nick Massouh’s direction is pitch perfect. Subtle and clever, giving us exactly what we need in order to create this world. Probably the most effective direction I’ve seen in a fringe show, proof that less is more.
We are kept hostage, “full Tilt” for an hour and it is completely worth it!
What I didn't like
Would love to see it extend.
My overall impression
An 11pm performance that saved the day! One of the best things I’ve seen at the festival. GO!
