Great ensemble, live music, and alcohol. Very difficult to say anything bad about this piece. For such a large cast and only 45 minutes, they did a great job of incorporating everything/everyone possible in such a small space. There wasn’t 5 minutes that the room wasn’t bursting into laughter at something either incredibly crass from the male lead or equally cutting and more intelligent jabs via the MULTITUDE of powerful women on stage. I guess that’s more of a nod to the writer, but the cast gave the feeling that they really liked this show, and it affected the crowd as well.
What I didn't like
The wireless microphone signal cut out a few times, and the mixing was a little late/off. But that’s coming from a technician’s standpoint and I’m super nit-picky about that stuff. THISGROUPNEEDS A LARGERSTAGE.
My overall impression
Great writing, crisp (perfectly “over”) acting, and a feminist kick in the guts, it’s a hilarious little Fringe piece that is a perfect pick up for anyone. Live music and an intimate space make this more of a gathering of friends than a show where you must needs invest your whole heart and soul. Please consider giving these guys A LARGERSTAGE.
